Police & Crime Commissioner Survey

Public contact with Dyfed-Powys Police – how, why and is it easy?

Your Police & Crime Commissioner, Dafydd Llywelyn, and his team are currently carrying out a review to gain a better understanding of public contact with the Police.

Dafydd Llywelyn says: “I want to address how and why you contact the Police, and in making contact, whether you have found a service which is easy to access.

I want to find out if you feel the Force makes it clear how, and in which situations, you should contact them. I also want to discover what service you expect in terms of contacting the Police.

One of the priorities I set out within my Police and Crime Plan, is to ensure that you receive an accessible and responsive service from your police force. Therefore, crucially, I want to identify if any improvements are needed.”

This is the most recent strand of a new enhanced approach to the Commissioner’s continued commitment to holding the Force to account, for the delivery of an efficient and effective police service for the residents of Dyfed-Powys. The Commissioner has previously conducted two similar reviews, which looked at police officers’ use of force, and the Force’s approach to tackling illegal drugs. Both reviews included a public consultation aspect and resulted in the Force making some improvements in these areas.

Your Commissioner has launched a public survey for his current review.

The survey asks you to consider matters such as; whether you would contact the Police or one of their partner organisations in a number of various situations; how well informed you feel about the various ways you can contact the Police; how you would prefer to contact the Police; and whether you personally have experienced any barriers or difficulties in contacting the Police.

Dafydd Llywelyn adds: “I would very much appreciate your time in completing this survey; to let me know your views, and to inform me of your specific experiences in contacting Dyfed-Powys Police. Diolch am eich amser. Thank you for your time.”

You can access the survey online at: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/MQLW7D3

The survey closes at midday on 2nd September.
